Raspberry Nightmare: a Cake that will fascinate You!
As Halloween approaches faster and faster, we are getting closer to the holiday of ghosts and goblins. It’s a unique, mysterious, and somewhat dark period, which stirs up a mix of emotions, both negative and positive.
Thinking about Halloween, I’ve prepared an extraordinary cake – the Raspberry Nightmare. My cake doesn’t look like the traditional shortcrust pastry with jam. The Raspberry Nightmare is a cake shaped like a pumpkin in a Halloween style. I’ve added cinnamon to the cake, which brings a slightly spicy aroma that blends wonderfully with the chilly season. This vegan, shortcrust pastry covered in raspberry jam will surely put anyone in a “spirited mood.”

- My cup holds 250 ml.
2 cups of all-purpose flour
0.5 cup of vegetable oil
0.5 cup of oat milk
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 level teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Raspberry jam
Preparation
- Cake preparation
- I poured flour into the bowl, added baking powder, sugar, and cinnamon. I gently mixed the dry ingredients with a spoon.
- I added vegetable oil and plant milk to the dry ingredients. First, I mixed everything with a spoon, and then I transferred it to the countertop and kneaded it by hand.
- I rolled out the kneaded dough into a thin disc, about 0.5 cm thick.
- Shaping the pumpkin.
- I greased the outside of a round metal bowl with oil and sprinkled it with breadcrumbs.
- I placed the dough disc over the bowl, and I trimmed off the excess dough with a knife.
- I used the dough scraps to create the base of the cake, and I used the remaining dough for decorating my cake.
- I decorated the cake with dough pieces resembling leaves and cut out pumpkin-shaped eyes and mouth.
- I placed the prepared cake in a preheated oven and baked it for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick came out dry.
- After baking, I removed the cake from the oven and let it cool
- I removed the cake from the bowl and spread raspberry jam on the bottom.
At first glance, the Raspberry Nightmare might seem labor-intensive and complicated to make, but it’s quite the opposite. Presented on the table in this way, it will undoubtedly amaze anyone. Surprise your guests and family with this chillingly delicious Raspberry Nightmare. Most importantly, enjoy this special time of the year when magic resides in every bite of this incredible cake.
